"Hot" hunting problem in Pu Mat National Park, 1 year confiscated more than 3,000 traps

It is known that most of the "hunters" are people living in buffer zones such as Tam Dinh and Tam Quang communes (Tuong Duong), Chau Khe, Lang Khe, Yen Khe communes (Con Cuong)...

Wild animals such as civets, wild cats, bamboo rats, wild pigs, etc. are all being hunted and exterminated by hunters, with many species facing the risk of being "wiped out" here.
A representative of Pu Mat National Park said: The subjects often use many types of hunting guns and traps to hunt wild animals such as: spears, noose traps, and clamp traps. The main animals that the trappers often target are wild pigs, weasels, monkeys, squirrels, etc.

Recently, on January 13, the authorities arrested 5 subjects and confiscated 5 homemade guns, 2 gray langur (Trachypithecus phayrei) carcasses, 1 live wild boar, dried legs and bones of 1 wild boar, and various types of traps.
Previously, on January 1, the Forest Rangers and forest protection officers arrested 7 people living in Khe Bu village, Chau Khe commune (Con Cuong) with 9 homemade guns, the seized evidence included monkeys, flying squirrels and dried mice. These people were fined a total of 36 million VND.
