(Baonghean.vn) - The prolonged heat wave, with temperatures reaching nearly 40 degrees Celsius, has disrupted the lives of people in the highlands. Many people, unable to bear the heat, have been forced to find caves or set up tents at streams to rest and avoid the sun.

In recent days, the temperature has been rising, especially at noon and in the afternoon, making the atmosphere extremely hot and stuffy. Many places such as Tuong Duong, Con Cuong... have sometimes reached over 40 degrees Celsius. To cope with the sun outside, many people have sought out caves to take a nap. Photo: Dao Tho
At Mo Cave (Tien Ky Commune, Tan Ky District), the time from 11 am to 3 pm is when people flock to avoid the sun the most, because this is considered a giant "air conditioner" in this highland commune. However, getting into the cave is also very difficult because the road is difficult. Photo: Dao Tho
In the cave, they found large rocks to rest. The temperature in the cave was only about 20 degrees Celsius, so it was easy to have a good afternoon nap. Photo: Dao Tho
The cave space is narrow, many people have to jostle each other to find a place to avoid the sun outside the cave entrance. Photo: Dao Tho
Not only the locals, many visitors from neighboring localities also come here. "We came here from Tho Son commune of Anh Son district. The heat at home was unbearable, so we had to travel nearly 10 km to get to the cave and then return in the afternoon" - a tourist shared. Photo: Dao Tho

However, because it has not been planned as a tourist destination, people's eating and drinking right in the cave causes garbage to be thrown everywhere. "In the near future, we will organize a youth group to clean up the garbage and put up signs" - said Mr. Lo Hong Tuong, Deputy Secretary of the Tien Ky Commune Youth Union. Photo: Dao Tho
At the streams of Tuong Duong district such as Luu Kien, Tam Dinh... many people have set up tents by the stream to rest and avoid the heat. Photo: Dao Tho
The temporary tents are a place to somewhat dispel the intense heat. According to forecasts, the heat may last for the next few days. Photo: Dao Tho
