Hot: President Trump announced that Israel and Iran reached a ceasefire agreement
On June 23, US President Donald Trump unexpectedly announced that a "comprehensive and comprehensive" ceasefire between Israel and Iran would take effect to end the conflict between the two countries.

According to Reuters, in his statement, Mr. Trump seemed to imply that Israel and Iran would have a period of time to complete any ongoing tasks, after which the ceasefire would begin in a phased process.
In a post on his Truth Social page, Mr. Trump wrote: "Under the assumption that everything will proceed as normal, which it will, I want to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, for having the stamina, courage, and wisdom to end what should be called a '12-DAY WAR.'"
Earlier, Mr. Trump said he would encourage Israel to move toward peace after downplaying Iran's attack on a U.S. air base (which caused no casualties) and thanking Tehran for its early notification.
However, according to CNN, up to now, neither Israel nor Iran has made any comments about an upcoming ceasefire.
In an interview on Fox News that began minutes after the president's announcement, Vice President JD Vance praised Mr Trump for "getting the deal across the finish line".
"We were actually working on that as soon as I left the White House to come here. So that's good news, that the president was able to get the deal done," Mr. Vance said.
Mr. Vance also said he read a draft of Mr. Trump's post "two minutes before we went on air" and it "was a little different than what the president showed me a few hours ago. But again, I know he was on the phone negotiating while I was on the way here."
"Iran does not have the ability to build a nuclear weapon with the equipment they have, because we destroyed it," the US vice president added.
CNN said it had contacted the White House for more information on the ceasefire. Neither Iran nor Israel had any comment at this time.
