After the match between FLC Thanh Hoa and SLNA ended, the VFF Referee Board decided to temporarily suspend referee Ha Anh Chien, who made a mistake in awarding a penalty to the home team in the 87th minute. Referee Ha Anh Chien also publicly apologized to the entire SLNA team for his wrong decision.

However, that was only the initial decision for this referee and on May 11, the VFF Referee Board re-examined all the records, videotapes and videotape of the match between FLC Thanh Hoa and SLNA in the 9th round.

Mr. Nguyen Van Mui (Head of the VFF Referee Board) said that referee Ha Anh Chien was strictly handled in accordance with the procedure. In particular, the VFF Referee Board agreed to impose a disciplinary measure, which is to remove referee Ha Anh Chien from the list of professional referees in Vietnam.

“This is a big mistake so we have to deal with it seriously,” said Mr. Nguyen Van Mui. Thus, the VFF Arbitration Board has made the final decision on how to handle referee Ha Anh Chien.
