People's Artist Hoang Dung panicked because he was spectacularly deceived.
When asked to transfer 50 million VND, People's Artist Hoang Dung did not think twice about transferring the money and discovered he had been scammed shortly after.
People's Artist Hoang Dung said he was still shocked and panicked by the current spectacular money-scam technology. Because he fell into the trap, tycoon Phan Quan had to regretfully "send" 10 months of his pension (50 million VND) to the scammer.
People's Artist Hoang Dung said that around 3:00 p.m. on April 11, a younger brother in Germany called him on FaceTime. This is a very close younger brother because every time People's Artist Hoang Dung goes on tour, this person warmly welcomes him. The two also keep in touch with each other regularly.

The call via messenger was interrupted when People's Artist Hoang Dung spoke and could not hear what the other person said. Later, there was a message from this Facebook account asking People's Artist Hoang Dung to transfer 20 million VND to another account with the reason of buying goods but running out of money in his personal account. People's Artist Hoang Dung did not suspect anything and transferred 20 million.
A moment later, this person continued to ask Hoang Dung to transfer a huge amount of money. However, there was only 37 million VND left in his account, so People's Artist Hoang Dung only transferred 30 million VND to the other person.
People's Artist Hoang Dung said that the reason he transferred 50 million VND at once was because through the Facebook chat, the way the two addressed each other "big brother", "boss",... was exactly the same as the times the two brothers talked. In addition, the Facebook account also "added": "If it's urgent, I'll transfer it back to the boss tomorrow".
After transferring 50 million VND, People's Artist Hoang Dung felt something was wrong. He called actor Viet Anh and through the analysis of 'Phan Hai's son', Hoang Dung knew he had really been scammed.
People's Artist Hoang Dung shared that he was scammed out of an amount equivalent to 10 months' salary. |
Calling his brother in Germany to confirm, Hoang Dung was shocked to learn that he had just lost 10 months of salary. "Who wouldn't feel sorry for losing money, but I lost a lot of money like that. It's so sad, sad for this society too, why do people keep scamming each other like this. This is also a very expensive lesson for me, we need to learn from experience in this era of information technology. We need to check all information before transferring money at someone's request, even if it's someone very close to us."
Not long ago, former editor Diep Anh also had to warn relatives and friends on her personal page about her social media account being impersonated to scam money. She shared that she did not use Zalo but a scammer created an account with her image, then contacted her friends with the trick of asking them to transfer money urgently. With this scam, a friend of hers was scammed out of 50 million. Former editor of VTV's 7pm News reminded everyone: "Everyone, please be careful, it's scary, there are all kinds of scams. When someone texts you to transfer money, remember to call back, social networks now make it very easy to get names and photos, making users not pay attention."
