People's Artist Thu Hien shares about her current life at the age of U70 and her secretive husband

People's Artist Thu HienBorn in 1952, she is a famous female singer with revolutionary, lyrical and folk songs. Loving music and art since childhood, Thu Hien touched the art world with her singing since she was only 10 years old. At the age of 15, Thu Hien followed the footsteps of soldiers into the battlefield and then in the fierce bombs and bullets, artist Thu Hien's singing voice soared and became a legend.

At the age of nearly 70, People's Artist Thu Hien still maintains a powerful high-pitched voice and a charming beauty.

Thu Hien grew up during the war years, her singing voice echoed from the North to the Central, on the fiercest battlefields such as Quang Tri. Those were difficult and arduous times, only a person with strong will could have the composure to maintain her profession. And until now, at the age of nearly 70, she still maintains her high-pitched, powerful voice and gentle beauty.

People's Artist Thu Hien said that she sings less these days, mainly spending her time teaching vocal music. Regarding the job of inspiring her students, she shared: "I perform to ease my longing for the profession, because I love singing so much. When I satisfy my longing for the profession, I return to the young people, bringing the passion of the profession to that young generation."

People's Artist Thu Hien is youthful despite being in her 70s.

People often say that Thu Hien's students are all talented and successful, so not everyone is taught by her. However, when asked about the criteria for selecting students to study in Thu Hien's class, she smiled and said: "I don't choose anyone because I consider them as my juniors. I always try to help them become the best. I am very happy that many of the students I taught have become stars and achieved many successes such as Thanh Le, Bich Hong, Thu Hang, Huyen Trang...".

Throughout her singing career, People's Artist Thu Hien sang many songs about her homeland, but perhaps the audience remembers her most for her songs about Uncle Ho, about the heroic years of the nation's historical struggle. Perhaps because she was born during wartime, her idea when she started singing and ever after was to use her singing to serve the country. Later, the younger generation in peacetime, when singing, aimed for their own purposes.

People's Artist Thu Hien shared her concerns: "Art is an effective spiritual food, each person has their own interests, so regardless of the musical direction of young people, I always encourage it. I find the music of the young generation today is very unique, modern and fresh, even when singing traditional music, they still create a very new style."

People's Artist Thu Hien is satisfied with her current happiness.

People's Artist Thu Hien is a person who has devoted her whole life to music, it is rare for the audience to see her share anything about herself and always maintain a good image. Talking about the reason for her rare appearance in the press and media, People's Artist Thu Hien affirmed: "I want the audience to remember me and give me my contributions in singing, besides, I want to be more private about my private life. I am an artist and only make my music public with my audience. I want to spend time singing and sharing my experiences with the younger generation, I don't want to appear much in the press."

People's Artist Thu Hien currently lives in Ho Chi Minh City with her family, but every month she goes to Hanoi to perform. "I have a husband and children there, but I still like to go to Hanoi to find my old things, even though I'm alone. It seems that people in their 70s like to reminisce" - People's Artist Thu Hien confided.

People's Artist Thu Hien does not hide that she loves and is attached to her husband because of his simple lifestyle, understanding and sharing. Besides the love between husband and wife, the two are also friends, comrades and teammates.
