Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai tells the story of filming a scene of seducing and teasing Luyen Luu
In "Life is still beautiful", Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai made an impression with the role of Luu "nat" - a man with a grumpy, rude personality, a "single father" but emotional inside.
The film “Life is still beautiful” is set in a poor working-class neighborhood in a traditional market. There, people like Luu “nát”, Luyen “lương”, Nhat selling balloons, Dien, Le selling chickens... represent many miserable lives, living dependent on each other.
The two main roles of the film were given to Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai and Thanh Huong. Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai plays a man who works as a porter to earn money to send his son to college, has a grumpy personality, and often teases people.
Thanh Huong plays the role of Luyen "eel" - a hard-working woman who, along with her mother-in-law, tries for 5 years to pay off the debt left by her husband who was thought to have died at sea. Then, when she has cleared all her debts, she is heartbroken to discover that her husband is living happily with a new family.

Between the two characters arise conflicts, clashes, and confrontations, but above all there is still humanity, humanity with lessons about life values.
With interesting dialogue and natural acting, even though they have only gone part of the journey, both Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai and Thanh Huong have conquered the audience, making them laugh and cry while watching.
In the scene where Liu "nat" and Luyen "luong" go to Dien's (To Dung) hometown to collect debt, because they haven't collected the debt yet, they both have to stay at a motel for a night.
While drunk, Luu approached Luyen and tried to tease and seduce her. However, before he could do anything, Luyen slapped him. Only then did Luu sober up and return to his room.

In real life, Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai and Thanh Huong have a few decades age difference. Therefore, to act out this scene, both actors had to have a certain amount of discussion.
Sharing with Lao Dong newspaper reporters about the filming scene, Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai said: "Thanh Huong and I have an age difference, but during the working process, we both found a common voice and worked closely together, so in emotional scenes or scenes that required us to get in sync with each other very quickly."
The artist shared more, in the scene of seducing Luyen, actually those were just impulsive moments of Luu "nat" and he was not a womanizer.
"As a man, when he was drunk, Luu tried to tease Luyen, but after getting slapped, he was scared and immediately returned to his room. Luu has a very strong manly character, but this man's love is devoted to his son. Having been through a broken heart, Luu is very afraid of women. That was just a moment of passion, but Luu is not a womanizer" - Hoang Hai said.

The artist admitted that the character Luu also has a part of his personality. Both of them like to "tease", like to tease others. For Hoang Hai, teasing others is a way to create positive energy, of course, one should not "tease" too much so that people feel uncomfortable and annoyed.
On set, he also often jokes and "teases" everyone. He looks very happy but sometimes there are hardships that make the artist think.
According to Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai, in the scenes of pulling a cart uphill, although he tried his best, he still suffered from muscle pain and limping, and was afraid that it would affect the film crew. "I was just afraid that something would happen that would affect the progress of the film crew. But luckily, the next day I only limped slightly and then walked normally" - he confided.
In the film, Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai has good lines that are widely shared by the audience such as: "Out of fish sauce", "You must have intelligence to be a womanizer", "If you can't live a decent life, please die"...
