Meritorious Artist My Uyen: 'Even at 70 years old, I can still be a bride'
At the age of over 40, the actress is still in no rush to get married because she "doesn't like to just pick someone to marry."
Meritorious Artist My Uyen appeared at the premiere of the TV series in Hanoi. Her youthful, radiant appearance is completely different from the 70-year-old lady she portrayed in the second part.A lifetime of grudges. During the press conference, she said she felt too young for this role and wished she were older and uglier to better suit the image of Mrs. Lan at the age of 'thất thập cổ lai hy'. But then, she humorously explained the reason why the DOP made her look beautiful on screen: "Mrs. Lan is very rich so she can often go to spas, get facelifts... So it's understandable that she looks younger than her age."

However, she honestly shared that she felt "not really happy" when acting because the script was a bit forced, forced and unreasonable with the character's psychological lines. "When I acted, I felt a bit uncomfortable because it was too forced. I wanted the screenwriter to adapt this character more fiercely and Mrs. Lan to be more evil. Mrs. Lan should have been the one to "deal with" others, not to be "dealt with" like in part one.I tried to act to fulfill the pre-arranged character's profile but I really didn't feel happy.", the actress said frankly. In part two, My Uyen saw that the psychological line of the character Mrs. Lan was developed more logically.

Although she considers herself a family woman who often cooks, does laundry, and cleans the house, My Uyen remains calm when it comes to husband and children. When asked about the reason why she is still single, My Uyen admits that she is really picky and meticulous in choosing men. She is always a perfectionist in finding friends of the opposite sex and is not confused by the influence or pressure from those around her. "I don't like to get married just to have sex with someone," the actress affirmed.
My Uyen thinks that being single at the age of 40 is not a big deal. "I'm over 40, I don't like to randomly choose someone to marry. Everyone asks why I'm still single, but I think I'm not single because there are still many men who love and pursue me." She lets fate "come when it comes" and jokingly said: "When I'm 70, I can still be a bride. At that time, I will wear a sexy wedding dress, put a big flower on my head and drive a convertible."

The actress never thought that it was okay to not have a husband but definitely had to have a child. Many people around her advised her to get married or have a child because "in the future, if no one takes care of her, where will she live? She will have to suffer and go to a nursing home." However, My Uyen replied, "I don't want to get married now, so why should I give birth to someone else? She has no intention of finding some rich man to be the third person, then give birth to a child for them to rely on.She didn’t want to be a single mother. She wanted her child to have a father. She wanted to be with a responsible man who would raise her child with her. No matter what anyone said, My Uyen still thought:"There's nothing sad about this life. It's already fun, so having a child isn't just for fun."
To the question "What kind of man would make My Uyen want to stop and get married?", the actress replied: "Normally, that person must have social status, be responsible for the family and have financial ability.I am not the type of person who craves support. I don't like people who are superficial but empty inside. They must be people with real talent."
At the end of the conversation, My Uyen admitted that she was in love. Sharing about her current man, she simply said: "He is not an old man but a very young man." However, she denied dating someone younger. "I don't date rich old men but I don't like young pilots either."
