Outstanding young female lecturer from Uncle Ho's hometown inspires the teaching community

From passion…

Dr. Tran Thi Gai (born in 1986) is currently a lecturer in the Faculty of Biology - School of Education -Vinh UniversityBorn and raised in Nam Dan district - Nghe An, since childhood, she dreamed of becoming a teacher and strived to make her dream come true.

With her intelligence and diligence, she became a student of Pedagogy, Vinh University. Graduating with honors, Tran Thi Gai was qualified to transfer to graduate school and was retained by the school as a lecturer. In 2018, she successfully defended her doctoral thesis.

In addition to teaching at university, she is also enthusiastically involved in teaching at high schools including the Pedagogical Practice School and Vinh University High School for the Gifted. Her experiences at high school have helped her apply research topics to teaching in the direction of developing students' qualities and abilities; helping students to be passionate about learning and scientific research.

In the eyes of her colleagues, she is a lecturer, educator,scientistYoung people have passion and abundant energy. While teaching, Dr. Tran Thi Gai is also diligent in scientific research, she has achieved many successes, recognized and highly appreciated by generations of students and colleagues. Students always look forward to the enthusiastic and engaging lectures of the charming young lecturer.

That has fueled the fire of knowledge, nurtured the love of the profession and the aspirations of future generations of teachers. She directly guided 01 scientific research topic of a student who won the Second Prize at the Ministry level; was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Executive Committee of Vinh University Youth Union for her outstanding achievements in activities.scientific researchof young staff and lecturers.

With the prestige gained in the process of teaching and research, Dr. Tran Thi Gai was invited by the Ministry of Education and Training to participate in training for key teachers nationwide on general education innovation. Specifically, designing and organizing STEM education topics in schools; organizing experiential activities and career guidance for students; participating in the program to develop teacher training schools to improve the quality of teachers and managers of general education institutions.

…to inspire

In recent years, the general education program has been shifting from content-oriented teaching to teaching that develops students’ qualities and abilities. This transition has caused many teachers to encounter difficulties, obstacles, and difficulty keeping up with the innovative program.

Simultaneously,Covid-19 epidemicThe widespread outbreak has affected teaching, many localities have had to switch from in-person learning to online learning. Once again, general education teachers have had more difficulties when having to change teaching methods, many have not been able to adapt to teaching in front of a computer screen, interacting with students via camera.

From this reality, Dr. Tran Thi Gai wishes to contribute to helping teachers across the country confidently perform their teaching tasks, motivating and inspiring colleagues in the journey of transferring knowledge and skills to students. She has established a groupfacebook, zalo with the name "TEACHING 4.0" to promptly share documents and teaching experiences with the teacher community nationwide.

She created a live Zoom room to organize Webinars to discuss issues such as building school programs; building subject organization plans; designing lessons to develop students' qualities and abilities; designing Elearning lectures to support online teaching; how to manage online classrooms...

Through that, Dr. Tran Thi Gai shared her experience as well as the knowledge and skills needed for teachers in the process of teaching and developing students' qualities and abilities. To have a Webinar, she had to go through many steps, from arranging the schedule, designing the content, sending the link to thefanpageand organize professional sharing sessions.

As soon as she announced the schedule of the first Webinar, the spread in the teaching community was very strong with nearly 1,000 teachers participating. The members were very interested in following the issues presented by Dr. Tran Thi Gai in the Webinars and actively expressed their opinions, exchanged and discussed, making the atmosphere more exciting.

At the end of each Webinar, she saves the video, uploads it to YouTube and shares it on social networks (Facebook, Zalo) so that those who cannot attend directly have the opportunity to access it. After the Webinar, there were hundreds of responses, most of which expressed joy and interest in the useful information for teaching, especially the issue of innovative teaching methods.teachand organize experiential and career guidance activities.

On the occasion of this year's Vietnamese Teachers' Day, Dr. Tran Thi Gai was truly delighted to be honored by Nghe An Provincial Youth Union with the title of Outstanding Young Lecturer of 2021.
