The robbery occurred at 2:15 p.m. on January 24, on Truong Chinh Street, in front of Van Don Seafood Restaurant (216 Truong Chinh, Thanh Binh Ward, Hai Duong City). At the time of the incident, Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Ha (born in 1984, residing at 242 Nguyen Thi Dinh, Hai Tan Ward, Hai Duong City), an accountant of a company, was sitting in a car with license plate 19N - 3955 when Hoang Xuan Hao (registered residence in Tien Trung area, Ai Quoc Ward, Hai Duong City, Hai Duong Province) rushed up on a motorbike; opened the car door, then suddenly punched her in the face and snatched a bag containing 22 million VND.
