Former female terrorist who served time in prison becomes a British official.
A female terrorist, who had served time in prison for her involvement in the July 2005 London Underground attack, has been appointed to a high-ranking position on the Southwark Council (London, England).
Mulumebet Girma, 33, joined Southwark Council because her colleagues were unaware of her involvement in one of Britain's most notorious attacks.

This former Ethiopian model rose rapidly through the ranks at the Housing Authority, as the Southwark Council in London failed to uncover her dark past. Furthermore, she was featured on the cover of a government magazine to promote her apprenticeship program.
Girma has now been sacked.
According to The Sun, Girma started working at Southwark Council as a trainee customer service assistant in 2013, shortly after being released from prison early. Girma did not disclose her criminal past, and Southwark Council did not discover that she had played a key role in the infamous London terrorist attack.
Many people are asking, "How did Girma get that job without any background checks, when a simple Google search could reveal all the information about this woman?"
Southwark Councillor Michael Mitchell said: "This is a truly appalling mistake. Allowing someone with a troubled past to work with vulnerable clients is extremely dangerous."
