Female employee 'hugs' nearly 500 million VND of company and flees back to her hometown
After more than a year of hiding from a wanted warrant for embezzling nearly 500 million VND from the company, Vy was discovered and arrested by the police.
Long Dien District Police (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) said that the unit has transferred suspect Pham Tran Thao Vy (25 years old, residing in Tan Chau District, Tay Ninh Province) from Tay Ninh to Ba Ria - Vung Tau to serve the investigation.
Previously, Vy was wanted for abusing trust and appropriating nearly 500 million VND from the company where Vy worked.

Every day, Vy's job is to receive goods from customers, scan the barcodes of the goods into the company's software, and then distribute the goods to the delivery staff. At the end of the day, the delivery staff will hand over the money collected from customers to Vy.
According to regulations, Vy had to deposit all the money collected into the company's account before 12 noon the next day. However, on August 22, 24 and 25, 2020, after receiving money from the delivery staff, Vy did not deposit it into the company's account but "took" the amount of more than 463 million VND and fled.
After that, the company tried to contact Vy many times but failed, the case was reported to Long Dien District Police.
At the end of March 2021, Vy was prosecuted by Long Dien District Police for the crime ofAbuse of trust to appropriate property, and issued a nationwide wanted notice.
After more than a year in hiding, on August 7, Vy was arrested by police in Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province.
