'9X female monster' cheated 3 young men, embezzling over 4 billion VND
(Baonghean.vn) - In just a short time, by deceitful means of applying for jobs at Nghe An Social Policy Bank and buying cars at cheap prices, Cao Thi Thu Ha defrauded 3 victims, appropriating nearly 4.1 billion VND.
On August 17, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a trial for defendant Cao Thi Thu Ha (born 1990), residing in Dien Hoa commune, Dien Chau district, for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
Due to debt and lack of a stable job, Cao Thi Thu Ha came up with the idea of defrauding and appropriating other people's money. Ha provided false information such as being able to buy a car at a cheap price, applying for a job at a bank to appropriate money from 3 victims, with a total amount of nearly 4.1 billion VND.
Among the victims, Mr. Phan The T. (born in 1989, residing in Nghia Loc commune, Nghia Dan district) was defrauded by Ha and had more than 1.5 billion VND appropriated. Mr. T. knew Ha through a friendship.

Around April 2022, knowing that Mr. T's lover had taken the entrance exam for the Social Policy Bank of Nghe An province but had not yet received the results, Ha "bragged" that he could help his lover get accepted into the bank. Ha provided information that she was a close acquaintance of the director of this bank and promised that she would definitely get the job. Trusting him, Mr. T transferred a total of 850 million VND to Ha.
Also during this time, knowing that Mr. T. wanted to buy a car, Ha informed him that he could buy a car at a cheaper price at car dealerships. Trusting him, in a short time, this man transferred a total of 700 million VND to Ha. Ha appropriated and used all of this money for personal use.
After defrauding a series of victims, in November 2022, Ha turned himself in to the police.
At the trial, the defendant stated that she had committed fraud against many victims because she was in debt and needed money to pay off her debts. However, the defendant did not elaborate on those debts.
The victims who attended the court stated that they have not received any compensation from the defendant so far, and therefore requested that Ha return all the money he had appropriated.
The panel of judges determined that the defendant's crime was particularly serious, infringing on the property rights of others, so they sentenced Cao Thi Thu Ha to 20 years in prison and ordered the defendant to return all the money she had appropriated from the victims.
