Female monster cheated to sell cheap avocado ice cream, took billions of dong and then ran away
Thao "bragged" that she worked in the avocado ice cream industry and had relatives abroad, so she could import goods at a cheaper price than the market price to defraud the victims' deposits.
The Investigation Police Agency of Da Nang City Police said that it has completed the investigation and transferred the case file to the People's Procuracy of the same level to prosecute Lam Nguyen Thi Bich Thao (27 years old, residing in Hoa An ward, Cam Le district) for fraud and property appropriation.
According to the investigation, in September 2017, Thao knew that Mr. Le Canh C. (29 years old, residing in Vinh Trung ward, Thanh Khe district) was selling avocado ice cream, so he came to discuss business cooperation.

Thao lied to Mr. C. that she worked in the avocado ice cream industry and had relatives abroad, so she could import goods at a cheaper price than the Vietnamese market. However, to buy this item, the unit price must be 200 million VND or more.
After consulting the price, on September 13, 2017, Mr. C. signed a contract to purchase a shipment of more than 485 million VND and transferred 339 million VND as a deposit (70% of the contract value).
Thao scheduled the first delivery date of November 10, 2017. In the meantime, Thao continued to call Mr. C. to invite him to buy more avocado ice cream that was being liquidated at a cheap price. Trusting him, Mr. C. signed a contract for more than 1 billion VND and deposited 735 million VND.
Then, Thao bought 300 kg of ice cream from a company for nearly 58 million VND to deliver to Mr. C. to gain his trust.
Using this method, Thao cheated Mr. C. 8 times, taking 1.95 billion VND in deposits. In addition to Mr. C., this female monster also cheated 5 other people in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, taking more than 2 billion VND.
After defrauding the victims, Thao fled her residence in March 2018. On December 20, 2019, the police arrested Thao while she was in Nha Trang City (Khanh Hoa).
According to the investigation agency, Thao has a criminal record for using computers, telecommunications networks, the internet or digital devices to appropriate property, and has not yet had his criminal record cleared.
