Beautiful Laotian female student determined to 'conquer' Vietnamese because of her love for Vietnam

(Baonghean.vn) - Intelligent and beautiful, Phetsouthavong Souliphone is one of the 10 excellent graduates of the Vietnamese language department, class 14, Nghe An Pedagogical College.

Born in 1998, the girl from Bolikhamxay province, when she first arrived in Vietnam 8.9 months ago, could only speak broken Vietnamese. After learning the language, with her own efforts, Souliphone not only completed the course but was also one of the 10 excellent graduates of the 14th Basic Vietnamese Language course, Nghe An Pedagogical College.

Sharing about the process of "conquering" Vietnamese - a language often described with the song "Storms are not as strong as Vietnamese grammar", Souliphone said that she loves the people and country of Vietnam very much, so this is one of the main motivations that helps her learn Vietnamese well.

For Souliphone, the most difficult part of learning Vietnamese is pronunciation with tones. The secret to learning Vietnamese well is reading books, listening to music, watching movies in Vietnamese as well as making friends and speaking Vietnamese with Nghe An friends.

Nghe An is the first place in Vietnam that Souliphone set foot in. However, before that, I had learned interesting stories about the land and people here through the stories of my brother who was studying abroad in this land.

For nearly a year, Souliphone not only studied and had cultural exchanges but also had many new experiences in Nghe An. Souliphone shared that she had the chance to visit many famous places in Nghe An such as Cua Lo beach, Quyet Mountain, Uncle Ho's hometown...

“Among the places I have been to, I like the most to visit Uncle Ho’s hometown - the place that holds many childhood memories of President Ho Chi Minh” - Souliphone said. Since childhood, Souliphone has admired leaders Ho Chi Minh and Kaysone Phomvihane - two great presidents of the Vietnamese and Lao peoples. Therefore, when visiting Uncle Ho’s birthplace, Souliphone could not hide her emotions because she learned more about her idol.

After finishing the Vietnamese language course at Nghe An Pedagogical College, Souliphone will continue studying at Vinh Medical University to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor to treat people and take care of her family's health./.
