Female student of Phan School achieved top score in block C nationwide
(Baonghean.vn) - In the 2017 National High School Exam, Nghe An made two special marks when it had two national valedictorians in group B and group C. Among them, candidate To Khanh Ly - class 12C3, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted is one of four candidates with the highest score in group C in the country with 29 points, including Literature 9.25, History 9.75 and Geography 10.
In just a short time, Khanh Ly will be a student at Hanoi Law University... Talking about her choice, the national top student of Block C confided: From childhood to adulthood, I always dreamed of becoming a Security soldier.
However, because this year the security schools do not recruit block C, I registered for the Faculty of Economic Law, University of Law. Although the environment is different, I believe that here I can continue to fulfill my dream, which is to be a defender of justice.

During 12 years of schooling, it seems that Ly's every step has been carefully prepared. Ly herself does not have many illusions about herself and she knows her own abilities to make appropriate choices. When she registered for Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Ly's interest was in the Literature class. But knowing that she was only studying at a normal secondary school and her achievements were not outstanding, Ly took the exam to enter the Geography class. As a result, her choice was correct and Ly was one of the 5 students with the highest admission scores in the class.
At Phan School, Ly also cherished the idea of being on the school's national team. However, after failing in grade 10, Ly gave up that idea to focus on studying for the university entrance exam. Finally, once again, she made the right choice when she became the top student in the national C block with a very proud result: 29 points.
Recalling the review process, Ly said: Grade 12 was truly an emotional year for us, especially when we received information that the Ministry of Education and Training had changed from essay format to multiple choice for History and Geography.

In the first days of studying to get used to the new exam format, not only the students but also the teachers were confused. The most favorable thing for Ly and her classmates at that time was that they had finished the program from grade 11 and had the whole year of grade 12 to practice the questions. During the review process, Ly did not learn by rote but had a very scientific way of studying, focusing on the details: History and Geography knowledge were all in the textbooks.
However, during the review process, it is necessary to grasp the ideas firmly to avoid confusion. In fact, History and Geography are not too difficult, but there are many questions with similar answers to "puzzle" students. Therefore, in addition to memorizing, students need to understand and grasp the problem firmly.

Thanks to careful preparation, Ly only studied History and Geography in class. The only subject Ly attended extra classes for was Literature and tried to overcome her limitations by reading a lot of documents. Talking more about the results, Ly said: After finishing the exam, I scored 10 points in Geography. I was quite confident in History but later found out that I got a silly question wrong related to the Dien Bien Phu campaign. I was only surprised by the Literature result and did not expect to get 9.25 points.
Ly also said: I really like the Literature topic about empathy and compassion. While doing the test, I used the case of MC Phan Anh when he donated 500 million VND to support the people of Central Vietnam affected by floods as an example. I also think that without empathy and compassion, it is difficult to have a noble act.

Ly's first success was also a great source of encouragement for her parents. Few people know that after Ly, there are still three younger siblings, the youngest of whom is only 3 months old.
The future graduate also said: My parents both come from the countryside and came to Vinh to start a business, so they did not have many opportunities to study. Therefore, my parents' biggest wish is for my siblings to study well and have stable jobs. As for me, I study not only for myself but also for my parents and set an example for my younger siblings to follow./.
