Female student from Nghe An volunteering in Quang Ninh was swept away by floodwaters

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 3, the authorities of Hoi Son commune, Anh Son district (Nghe An) confirmed that a student had just died while volunteering for the Green Summer program in Quang Ninh.

The victim was identified as Nguyen Thi Hai (born 1997), residing in Hoi Son commune, Anh Son district.

Accordingly, on June 29, Hai finished his final exam at Hanoi Foreign Trade University, he decided to stay and volunteer to teach disadvantaged children in Quang Ninh province.

On the evening of July 2, while crossing the stream, Hai and three other friends were swept away by floodwaters while wading through the last section of the fast-flowing stream and went missing. After searching all night, their bodies were found on the morning of July 3.

It is known that this is the first time Hai participated in volunteer activities and the tragic incident happened.
