(Baonghean.vn) - A reckless thief broke the lock, broke into a rented room, and held a knife to the neck, stealing a laptop, a cell phone, and 370,000 VND from a student at Vinh Medical University.
The incident occurred at around 2am on March 16, at a row of boarding houses in Mau Lam hamlet, Hung Loc commune, Vinh city. The victim was Ms. Hoang Thi My Anh, a first-year student at Vinh Medical University (from Quy Chau district).

At that time, Ms. Anh was sleeping when she saw a masked young man break into the room. As she was about to scream, the subject held a knife to Ms. Anh's neck and forced her to lie still on the bed. The subject rummaged through the room and took a laptop, a phone, and 370,000 VND from her wallet.
Before that, the subject broke the outside gate lock, opened the window of another room, searched the bag but did not take anything.

Immediately after the incident, Ms. Anh’s friends reported it to the Hung Loc Commune police. At around 9:30 a.m., Vinh City Police arrived at the scene to make a record of the incident and take the victim’s statement.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuong, the landlord, said that in August 2015, a thief broke into the room where Ms. Anh was staying, broke the safe, and stole 96 million VND from a bank employee who was renting the room.
The incident is currently being investigated and clarified by Vinh City Police.
