Karaoke hostess tortured by boss like in medieval times

On January 16, Colonel Le Van Son - Head of Ea H'leo District Police (Dak Lak), said that the unit is taking the statement of Nguyen Huy Thai (24 years old, residing in Ea Drang town, Ea H'leo district) to investigate and clarify the act of torturing a young woman. The victim in the incident is Nguyen Thi Thu Th. (born 2003, residing in Ea Kao commune, Buon Ma Thuot city).

The victim is being treated in hospital.

On December 26, 2018, Th. followed a friend he met on Facebook to go to Ea H'Leo district to work. There, Th. was taken to Thai's rented room in Dliê Yang commune. Every day, the victim was taken by Thai's men to karaoke bars in the area to pour beer, play songs, and sit with customers.

"Here, I was molested by customers so I ran out many times. On those occasions, when I came back, Thai beat me," the victim said.

On the night of January 12, Th. was suspected of stealing four cell phones from his roommates, and was dragged out for "interrogation" by Thai and several others. The interrogation of the victim took place from midnight to 5 a.m. the next morning. During this time, Thai and his men used knives, pens, and screwdrivers to stab him in the side, hit him in the face, hit him on the body, and pushed his head into a water tank.

On the morning of January 14, taking advantage of the moment when Thai's men were not paying attention, Th. sneaked out the back door and ran to a nearby resident's house to ask for help to take him home. The victim's family then took him to Thien Hanh General Hospital (Buon Ma Thuot City) for treatment and reported him to the authorities.

Working with the investigation agency, Thai initially confessed that he was the "boss" who organized "prostitution" for karaoke bars in Ea H'leo district. Thai also admitted to some acts of torture such as beating and using knives and keys to poke Thanh all over her body.

The case is currently under investigation.
