'The example of Scandinavian countries, in particular Norway, which knows how to properly allocate revenues from resource extraction and is a socially oriented country, is very suitable for Russia to follow,' Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak said at a meeting with voters in Murmansk.

"I like the example of the Scandinavian countries, I think that model suits Russia: there is no rampant wild capitalism, but a socially oriented country, where people feel needed, wanted and protected," Sobchak said.

Citing the example of Norway, a neighbor of Russia's Murmansk region, Ms. Sobchak declared her support for the development and expansion of cooperation with this neighboring kingdom.

"With Norway, we need to develop and expand cooperation. Norway is a large oil exporter, and the Norwegian economy was initially built, like ours, on the basis of oil resources. But there is a high standard of living that we cannot compare with, because the money from oil sales is used according to the set goal of promoting other industries. I would like Russia to become like Norway, but we will not follow that path," - the female Russian presidential candidate commented.

The election of a new Russian president will take place on March 18.
