Nghe An female athlete won Gold Medal at Southeast Asian Taekwondo Championship
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 12, Mr. Nguyen Van Hue - Deputy Director of Nghe An Sports Training and Competition Center said that the unit's athlete, female taekwondo fighter Tran Thi Lan, had just won the Gold Medal at the 2023 Southeast Asian Taekwondo Championship.
Tran Thi Lan excellently defeated the host country's female boxer in the final match of the 68 kg weight class which took place last night (March 11).

The 2023 Southeast Asian Taekwondo Championship will be held in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, from March 10 to 13, bringing together a large number of athletes from countries including Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines. This is considered a pre-SEA Games tournament, where athletes from different countries compete to prepare for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games, taking place next May.

The Vietnamese delegation participated in the tournament with 148 officials, coaches, and athletes, of which Nghe An province contributed 4 coaches and athletes. They are coach Dang Dinh Hung - Deputy Head of the Training and Coaching Department, Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, and 3 athletes: Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai (57 kg weight class), Tran Thi Lan (68 kg weight class) and Nguyen Thi Kim Anh (73 kg weight class)./.
