(Baonghean.vn) - Athlete Le Thi Khanh Huyen - Nghe An Sports Training and Competition Center has excellently won the Gold Medal at the 3rd Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts World Championship, 2022, which just closed at the end of July.

After 5 days of exciting competition (from July 16 to 21), the Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts Team won 6 Gold Medals and ranked 3rd overall. Nghe An had 2 athletes participating in the tournament, Le Thi Khanh Huyen and Bui Duy Chi Thanh. Of which, Le Thi Khanh Huyen was the youngest athlete of the tournament, winning a Gold Medal in the 60-65 kg weight class, combat event. In addition, Bui Duy Chi Thanh also won a Bronze Medal in the 75 kg weight class, combat event.

It is known that Khanh Huyen is a young athlete, only 18 years old this year. And this is the first time this martial artist participates in the World Championship of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts.

Khanh Huyen is known as a versatile athlete, as she can play well in Boxing and Traditional Martial Arts. This year, the athlete born in 2004, excellently won 2 Gold Medals, including the 2022 National Boxing Cup Championship, the 2022 National Kixboxing Youth Championship.

Entering the 2022 Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts World Championship, Khanh Huyen competed in the 60 - 65 kg weight class. After defeating her opponent from the Ivory Coast with an overwhelming victory, Khanh Huyen excellently won the Gold Medal in this weight class. Bui Duy Chi Thanh is also a young athlete and is highly appreciated. However, in the Silver Medal match, Chi Thanh lacked a bit of luck and had to stop before the home team.

Assessing the strengths and potential of Le Thi Khanh Huyen, National Grand Master Bui Duy Vinh emphasized: "Huyen is a versatile athlete, she has shown early the qualities of a great martial artist.
