The first country in the West to vaccinate against Covid-19
The UK is the first Western country to start administering a Covid-19 vaccine. Priority for vaccination is given to risk groups as determined by the government. The patient's age is the main criterion for prioritization. The Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine will be used for vaccination.
Most of the most vulnerable groups will be vaccinated by the end of January, a UK government spokesperson said. In total, the UK has ordered 40 million doses of the vaccine, but the pace of vaccination will depend on how much is produced.
