America has a new Supreme Court Justice
On October 6, the US Senate approved President Donald Trump's nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court. This is considered a big victory for President Donald Trump.

Mr. Kavanaugh will be sworn in on October 6 and will replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, who announced his intention to retire after three decades holding a key position on the US supreme judicial body.
The day before, the US Senate voted 51-49 to confirm Mr. Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. On October 4, the White House sent the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) report to the Senate Judiciary Committee on the sexual assault allegations against Mr. Kavanaugh. After reading the report, Ms. Susan Collins said that the FBI had thoroughly investigated.
While Mr. Jeff Flake said that although he had not read it all, he did not find any information against Mr. Kavanaugh. The Democrats said that the report was just a whitewash with a narrow scope of investigation and lacked important witnesses.
Analysts say that with the appointment of a second judge, President Trump is strengthening the control of the conservative faction in the Supreme Court. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One en route to Kansas, President Trump said he had full confidence in Mr. Kavanaugh's clean past and was proud of his choice.
