Raising French pigeons earns more than 200 million VND/year

The French pigeon farming model is kept by Ms. Huong in iron cages and fed with foods such as rice bran, corn, rice, cracked rice...

In 2011, Ms. Luong Thi Huong started buying French pigeons to raise. During the raising process, she realized that this breed of bird was easy to raise, grew quickly and had high value, so she expanded the area and bred them. Currently, in her family's farm, there are about 500 pairs (1,000 birds) of French breeding pigeons. The price of French pigeons sold to customers is currently 500,000 VND/pair of breeding pigeons; 200-300,000 VND/pair of young pigeons.

In addition to raising French pigeons, Ms. Huong is experimenting with raising about 10 pairs of American pigeons. The selling price of a pair of American pigeons is 1.5 million VND/pair; 1-month-old pigeons are 500,000 VND/pair and over 2 months old are 500-700,000 VND/pair.

The French pigeons are 10 days old.

Ms. Huong's family's French pigeon farming model is the largest in Quynh Luu district. Each month, over 200 pairs are sold to the market, earning 40 million VND. After deducting expenses, the family earns a profit of 20-25 million VND/month. Each year, the family earns over 200 million VND. In the coming time, her family will invest in a barn system, expand the area and breed American and Japanese pigeons.
