Raising grass carp and common carp in 2 sao of pond earns tens of millions of dong in profit
(Baonghean.vn) - After 5 months of raising fish on an area of 2 sao of pond, the survival rate of fish reached 98%. With the current selling price, after deducting expenses, Mr. Mai's household earned a profit of 35 million VND from raising grass carp and common carp.

The model was piloted by the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center and the Thai Hoa Town Agricultural Extension Station at Mr. Tran Thanh Mai's household in Hamlet 16, Nghia Thuan Commune (Thai Hoa Town) on an area of 0.1 ha, with 100% support for fish fry and 30% for fish feed. The size of fish fry supported for grass carp weighs 1.5 kg; common carp weighs 0.5 kg/fish; fish feed is mainly fermented soybeans. The total support value is over 65 million VND.
As a result, after 5 months of raising, the survival rate of fish reached 98%, the average weight of grass carp reached 2.8 kg/fish, common carp reached 1.5 kg/fish; the total output is estimated at over 14 tons... With the current selling price, after deducting expenses, Mr. Mai's household earned a profit of 35 million VND after 5 months of raising.

Investing in feed and applying the correct technical process of raising fish according to this model, the fish have quality meat, are tough, crispy, and do not have the fishy smell like conventionally raised fish; raising time is shortened, and farmers' income is increased.
