Education Publishing House: Shortage of textbooks due to sudden increase in students
The Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Education Publishing House said that over 100 million textbooks have been published and that some locations are lacking books due to the sudden increase in the number of students.
In response to the report that parents cannot buy textbooks for their children in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Education Publishing House explained that due to the sudden increase in the number of students in some localities, some small textbook stores are temporarily short of books.
To overcome that situation, the Publishing House has urgently provided additional textbooks to fully meet the needs of students before the opening day.

According to Mr. Tung, like previous school years, to serve this new school year well, on the one hand, the Publishing House ensures that textbook prices remain the same. At the same time, the Publishing House builds a plan to print and distribute textbooks based on the number of textbooks ordered by local Book and School Equipment companies as well as based on the practice of publishing textbooks in previous school years.
By August 15, the Vietnam Education Publishing House had published over 100 million textbooks, reaching 102% of the plan. The Publishing House established teams to monitor the publication of educational books in localities, ensuring that there is no shortage of books or book fever; and established a reserve source of textbooks to promptly serve students in some localities in case of natural disasters and floods.
