(Baonghean.vn) - All of whom had previous convictions for theft, they associated with each other and formed a mobile criminal gang operating in motels and hotels for a long time. This gang, led by Le Dai Ton (born 1986), residing in Block 7, Quan Hanh town, Nghi Loc district, specialized in stealing motorbikes across districts and committed dozens of thefts, frauds, and selling stolen goods to buy methamphetamine for personal use. However, this gang was recently dismantled by the Dien Chau District Police (Nghe An).

Since the beginning of 2014, the situation regarding motorcycle theft in Dien Chau district in particular and Nghe An province in general has become very complex. The Dien Chau District Police continuously received reports from victims of motorcycle thefts in Dien Chau and neighboring districts such as Nghi Loc, Cua Lo, Quynh Luu, and Vinh City. Through intelligence gathering and basic investigation, the Dien Chau District Police identified Le Dai Ton and his younger brother, Le Tien Tam (born in 1996), as having many suspicious activities. They reside in Quan Hanh town (Nghi Loc) but stay in guesthouses in Dien Chau town and have connections with individuals with criminal records and who show signs of using methamphetamine.

Recognizing this as a professional theft ring requiring focused investigation, the Dien Chau District Police established Special Case 414TX to combat it. During this time, Le Dai Ton and his accomplices frequently moved around, sometimes in Dien Chau, sometimes in Cua Lo, and sometimes gathering at a hotel in Vinh City to use methamphetamine. On one occasion, while using drugs at the An Dong Hotel in Cua Lo town, they ran out of money and stole a Sirius motorbike from the hotel's security guard, then took it to Do Luong to sell.

On April 16, 2014, after gathering sufficient evidence, the Dien Chau District Police decided to arrest the two brothers, Le Dai Ton and Le Tien Tam, as they were traveling by taxi from Dien Chau town to Dien Thanh beach. However, during the arrest, the two suspects fiercely resisted the arresting officers with sharp knives.

After disarming and apprehending two suspects and bringing them to the police station, the Dien Chau Police continued to arrest other members of this gang, including: Nguyen Dinh Thien (born 1990), residing in Quan Hanh (Nghi Loc); Bui Trung Hieu (born 1994), residing in Block 2, Dien Chau town; and Le Thi Mai Huong (born 1997), residing in Doi Cung ward, Vinh City. Simultaneously, an urgent search was conducted on Phan Chinh Huy (born 1974), residing in Hamlet 4, Da Son, Do Luong - an individual involved in receiving stolen property.
