5-seat high-chassis car under 1 billion: Korean cars no longer have the advantage of cheap price
5-seat high-chassis cars are increasingly popular in Vietnam, diverse in many segments as well as prices, but the most prominent is class C.
In the past 4 years, users have gradually switched to using many high-chassis sedan/SUV/Crossover models because of the practicality they bring such as spacious interior space, comfortable operation on many terrains and designs suitable for many customer groups.
Currently, there are many choices for 5-seat high-chassis cars priced under 1 billion VND, especially in the C-segment with many models on the list of best-selling cars in Vietnam.
Below is a list of notable 5-seat high-chassis cars priced under 1 billion VND:
Ford Territory
Topping the list is a Ford model that is highly appreciated by many users, priced from 822-935 million VND with three different versions. The main competitors of Ford Territory are Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, KIA Sportage, Honda CR-V.
The plus points for this model compared to its competitors are the spacious cabin, many amenities, good driving feeling and the cheapest price in the segment.

The car is equipped with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine with 160 horsepower and 248 Nm of torque, combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with front-wheel drive and 4 different driving modes.
The fuel consumption of the car is shared by some consumers at 5-7 liters/100 km for mixed roads, from 9-12 liters/100 km for inner-city roads.
Mazda CX-5
The best-selling C-segment crossover, Mazda CX-5 currently has a good price with a variety of incentives, and few "beer with peanuts" situations. There are 5 out of 6 versions on sale for less than 1 billion VND, including a 2.0L engine with 154 horsepower and a 2.5L engine with 188 horsepower.

The biggest advantage of this C-class crossover is its style and design that is less outdated, luxurious and youthful. In addition, at the same price range, the CX-5 has more equipment. Maintenance and replacement costs are quite cheap. The downside is that many users rate the driving feeling as not stable, the interior quickly becomes old, the soundproofing is poor and the interior space is quite cramped.
Hyundai Tucson
Once the cheapest car in the C-class crossover segment, but when entering the new generation from the end of 2021, Vietnamese people can only buy Hyundai Tucson in two versions: standard 2.0 and special gasoline, priced from 845 and 955 million VND respectively. The two versions of premium 2.0 diesel and 1.6 Turbo HTRAC exceed the 1 billion VND mark.
According to many users, the headlights on this car model are not bright enough, the driving feeling is quite light and there are some minor errors such as speaker errors. The main advantages are still many amenities, sporty design and sound quality from the Bose speaker system.

Both versions of the Hyundai Tucson priced under 1 billion VND are equipped with the Smartstream G2.0 engine, producing 156 horsepower and 192 Nm of torque, combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Fuel consumption is shared by the majority of users at the same level as Ford Territory.
Toyota Corolla Cross
Highly appreciated in the B+/C- segment, Toyota Corolla Cross quickly became popular after its launch in Vietnam and was in the top 10 best-selling cars in 2022. Currently, three versions 1.8G, 1.8V and 1.8HV are sold at prices ranging from 755-955 million VND.
Despite its low ground clearance, the car has the most spacious interior in the B-segment. The car is highly appreciated for its innovative design suitable for many customers, good equipment and fuel economy. However, the noise, body stability and weak engine of the car make many users complain.

All three versions are equipped with a 1.8-liter I4 engine, front-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission. This machine produces 138 horsepower and 172 Nm of traction, while the HV version combines a 1.8 engine (97 horsepower) and an electric motor (71 horsepower).
Kia Sportage
In the C-segment, Kia Sportage caused a surprise when it was launched in June 2022 because of its most expensive price in the segment. The car's size is also highly appreciated as the largest in the segment. However, due to the high price, consumers can currently only buy it under 1 billion VND with 2 versions 2.0G Luxury and Premium.
Because it has not been launched in the Vietnamese market for long, there are few objective reviews from users. According to some car owners, the car does not have minor errors as many people mistakenly believe in Korean cars. Equipped with many top-of-the-segment features, the noise is still quite obvious when operating on bad roads.

The two versions priced under 1 billion VND use a 2.0L engine with a capacity of 154 horsepower and 192 Nm of torque, with a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Actual mixed-road fuel consumption is 7-8 liters/100 km.
Honda HR-V
After launching the standard G version priced from 699 million VND, Honda HR-V sales are still not very impressive in the segment. However, the price range from 826-871 million VND for the L and RS versions always attracts a certain customer base.
Ignoring the poor soundproofing and the equipment that is only adequate for this car line, users get a car that gives the best driving feeling in the crossover segment under 1 billion VND. Besides, durability and safety technology are also plus points for the car.

The 1.5L turbocharged engine offers lower fuel consumption, but still delivers impressive power of up to 174 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. Sport driving mode helps the driver get excited when operating on a C-class crossover.
