(Baonghean.vn) - Many car drivers are certainly very confident in their driving skills. However, there are habits that cause them to lose money on their "beloved cars" without even knowing it... Below are bad habits that cause cars to quickly deteriorate that drivers should pay attention to.

1. Go as soon as you start

This is the action of those who are in a hurry, or some people restart the engine just to warm up the car will cause the engine to wear out due to pulling other parts when the engine speed is still low. The best way to start the car is to start immediately after the engine has been warmed up within 30 seconds to 1 minute.

2. Press the clutch while stopping

This often happens to drivers moving in crowded cities; this action helps the car move forward when stuck in traffic, or be ready to move as soon as the traffic light turns green. However, this habit makes the driver's legs tired quickly; the surface of the clutch and flywheel rotates smoothly, rubbing causes wear and tear on the clutch pads, affecting gear shifting over time.

To keep the car running smoothly, instead of pressing the clutch and leaving it in drive, release the clutch to put it in neutral. When starting to move, press the clutch lightly before letting the car go.

3. Suddenly shifting from reverse (R) to drive (D)

This often happens when the driver reverses, shifts the gears and then immediately goes forward on impulse. Over time, this will damage the transmission. To avoid this, it is better to bring the car to a complete stop before shifting. This only takes a few seconds and will prevent future damage to the axles, engine and transmission.

4. Habit of steering at full speed

Steering seems very simple, but if you often turn the steering wheel to its full extent, the mechanical force generated is affected, causing the steering head to need maintenance quickly. Therefore, the driver should reduce the force of turning the steering head to avoid damaging his car.

5. Check the brakes when going downhill

This action is done even though it is only to avoid the vehicle going too fast. However, this generates heat in the brake pads and rotors, causing wear, increasing the risk of overheating or warping. Furthermore, because working under high pressure can lead to brake failure, the hydraulic system can be disabled.

In this situation, the driver needs to shift to a lower gear; the natural reduction in pressure in the transmission system will help the vehicle maintain a safe speed.

6. Using engine oil that is not suitable for the vehicle

To keep the car running well and not overheat, users need to change the oil regularly. However, if you change the oil regularly but not the right type, not suitable for the engine, it will easily overheat the engine, waste fuel, and in the long run will affect the engine parts, causing the cylinder to seize.

7. Coolant deviation

According to the principles and advice of experienced car experts, coolant should be poured in a 50:50 ratio, meaning pouring 50% normal water and 50% coolant into the radiator. However, many people only pour normal water into the radiator, causing the water to evaporate quickly... If the outside temperature drops too low in winter, it can cause freezing. If this condition persists for a long time, it will cause problems for the car.

8. Over-inflating the tire

On some car models, manufacturers recommend that tires be inflated 0.2 - 0.5 kg/cm2 higher than the standard level to help save fuel. However, in many cases, drivers inflate their tires too much compared to the recommended level, which can lead to uneven tire wear and faster tire failure.

9. Ignoring vehicle warnings

On cars, there are often warning symbols on the dashboard that manufacturers have designed and carefully calculated to help drivers know the status of the systems on the car. If the driver does not pay attention to these warnings, it can be seriously affected. In the worst case, the car has vibrations, screeching noises, other unusual symptoms or can cause the car to stop suddenly.
