Cheap small cars are about to 'invade' the Vietnamese market
Many businesses are preparing to invest heavily in the production and assembly of small, environmentally friendly, low-cost cars in Vietnam.
In July 2015, two small car models were imported completely, launched in Vietnam, and immediately created a "fever". Mazda2 Skyactiv, imported completely from Thailand, after only 20 days of launching, sales reached 302 units. In addition to the number of delivered cars, the total number of orders up to the beginning of August reached more than 600 cars in less than 1 month.

Hyundai i20 Active, imported completely from India, after more than 1 week of launching, has had 300 customers sign purchase contracts. Up to now, the number of orders has exceeded 500 cars.
Previously, there were also many small car models on the market with high sales such as Hyundai i10, or Ford EcoSport... Since the beginning of the year, Hyundai i10 has sold more than 5,000 cars, and Ford EcoSport 2,000 cars.
Furthermore, the Vietnamese market has had hotter small car fevers. First of all, Kia Morning with the number of sales being the top in Vietnam. The Kia Morning fever lasted for many years and through many improved models until the i10 replaced it. Next is Huyndai Gezt with its high price thanks to its multi-purpose family needs, taxi business... with sales also being among the top for many years in a row.
According to auto engineers, what makes these small cars attractive to customers is their eye-catching design, integration of many modern technologies and reasonable prices. In particular, small cars are increasingly suitable for the needs, conditions of use and especially reasonable for the Vietnamese people's budget.
Meanwhile, according to the car import data for July and the first 7 months of the year just announced by the General Department of Customs, Thailand is the leading country exporting cars to Vietnam with nearly 18,840 units, but mainly trucks and pickup trucks. The number of cars with less than 9 seats reached only more than 4,300 units. In addition, Korea, India, China, and Japan are also major car exporters to Vietnam.
