The PAK DA strategic bomber can be equipped with missiles with a range of more than 4,800 km, allowing it to fly without leaving Russian airspace.

Russia's new generation strategic bomber (PAK DA) will be able to attack targets in many parts of the world without leaving Russian airspace thanks to the integration of long-range cruise missiles, according to RBTH.

Military expert Nikolai Litovkin assessed that the PAK DA is significantly slower than the Tu-160, the mainstay of Russia's strategic air force, which it will eventually replace. However, this difference can be compensated by developments in cruise missile technology on bombers.

The Russian Air Force possesses long-range Kh-555 and Kh-101 missiles with a range of more than 4,800 km, allowing them to attack multiple targets from a safe distance. The latest version of the Kh-101 is made from radar-absorbent materials and can be installed in a hidden weapon bay in the PAK DA fuselage. With this missile,PAK DA can attack a wide range of targets without leaving its airspace.air defense network protection ofRussia.

"The missiles will be integrated and receive all information about the target right from the bomber's body, like the T-50 fighter (PAK FA). This will help reduce the radar reflection area and drag of the aircraft," emphasized Professor Vadim Kozyulin of the Russian Academy of Military Sciences. Previously, missiles had to be mounted outside the aircraft's body to receive data about the target's location before launch.

Military experts believe that PAK DA is capable of carrying up to 40 tons of various weapons, equivalent to the current Tu-160 bomber.

The PAK DA project was launched by Russia in 2009, with the Topulev Group responsible for its design. This aircraft model was developed with the aim of replacing Russia's current trio of strategic bombers: Tu-22M3, Tu-95 and Tu-160.

The PAK DA can fly about 12,500 km without refueling, and has stealth capabilities and a guided missile system using artificial intelligence. The bomber is expected to make its first test flight before 2021 and the first batch will behand overfor the Russian Air Force by 2023.
