What Obama did before and after the Bin Laden raid
Unreleased White House video shows Obama attending a party before the operation to kill terrorist leader bin Laden took place.
According to CNN, the Obama administration approved the operation to kill Osama bin Laden, the supreme leader of al-Qaeda, the mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, on April 29, 2011, one day before the White House Correspondents Association dinner.
At the banquet, President Obama made a humorous speech, and did not reveal even the smallest detail about the operation to kill the terrorist leader. He also mocked billionaire Donald Trump, who suspected that Mr. Obama was not born in the US, and therefore not qualified to be US president.
Bin Laden was killed in the early morning of May 2, Pakistan time, after a Navy SEAL raid on his compound in Abbottabad. Immediately after the successful operation, the White House planned to announce the information to the people and the world.
The President and his advisers gathered before going on camera. The staff who arranged the taping had only a short notice. After his speech, Mr. Obama congratulated his advisers. Many Americans gathered to cheer and celebrate this victory.
