Vietnam Olympic team arrives in Ho Chi Minh City: Light training to relieve fatigue.
With seven players suffering injuries of varying severity, showing signs of fatigue after the match against the Indonesian Olympic team, and having just traveled to Ho Chi Minh City… there are many reasons for coach Toshiya Miura to gradually reduce the intensity of training for his players.
Excluding Xuan Truong, who is still receiving treatment for an injury and unable to join the team for training, the first training session in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday afternoon saw as many as seven players injured.
Most recently, defenders Duc Luong and captain Que Ngoc Hai have both suffered injuries in the victory against Olympic Indonesia, and according to diagnoses, both will almost certainly miss the friendly match against Olympic Uzbekistan to recover.

The Vietnamese Olympic team currently has 8 players with injuries of varying degrees.
In addition, other injured players include Hoang Lam, Hong Duy, Thanh Tung, Phuc Tinh, Tuan Tai, Duc Luong, Ngoc Thang, etc. Compared to the 30 players initially called up, the number of players available for the Vietnamese Olympic team to train yesterday afternoon was only 20.
The constant injuries to the players have deprived the Japanese coach of the opportunity to test all positions before selecting the official squad for the U23 Asian Cup qualifiers. During the 10-day training camp in the South, Coach Miura will have to consider removing 5 players and 2 goalkeepers from the 30-man squad. Players who do not recover in time to return to training are likely to be dropped by Coach Miura.
With more than 10 days remaining before the official tournament in Malaysia, and having just moved to a climate different from their initial training location after a rather strenuous match against the Indonesian Olympic team, Coach Miura therefore only allowed his players to relieve stress with light exercises.
For an hour yesterday evening, the Japanese coach only had his players stretch, jog a few laps around the field to get a feel for the game, and play a few "keep-away" games with the ball. With the U23 Asian Cup qualifiers fast approaching, Coach Miura, whether he likes it or not, has had to accept the reality of his players' less-than-optimal physical condition.
If Coach Miura tries to cram more training into his players in the hope of improving them now, it could backfire. Furthermore, the climate in Ho Chi Minh City is very different from the rather cold and rainy weather in Hanoi. The Vietnamese Olympic team already has enough injuries to weaken the squad under the Japanese coach.
