Biden leads Trump by 14 points in new poll
55% of voters polled would support former Vice President Biden if the election were held today.
Former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, now leads incumbent President Donald Trump by 14 points in his bid for the White House.
A survey conducted by CNN and released on June 8 shows that 55% of voters surveyed would support former Vice President Biden if the election were held today, while 41% would support current President Trump.

The poll results come as the United States grapples with a Covid-19 pandemic that has now infected more than 2 million people, killed more than 112,000 people, and sparked nationwide protests sparked by the death of George Floyd, a black man, after he was arrested by police in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Biden now has a double-digit lead over Trump, a significant improvement from a CNN poll conducted last month that had Biden at 51% and Trump at 46%.
Trump’s declining approval ratings in his head-to-head with Biden also coincide with a decline in the president’s approval ratings. Only 38% of those surveyed said they approved of the way Trump was handling his job as president, down 7 points from last month’s poll. Meanwhile, 57% said they disapproved of the job Trump was doing. That’s Trump’s lowest approval rating since January 2019 in CNN polls.
Additionally, the new poll found that more than 60% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of race relations. 65% of respondents said that President Trump’s response to the ongoing protests has done more harm than good. The survey also found that a vast majority of Americans (84%) believe that protests against racial inequality and police brutality are justified.
CNN conducted the survey from June 2-5 on nearly 1,260 adults, including 1,125 registered voters./.
