Mr. Cao Dang Vinh was elected as Chairman of the Provincial Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation.

Attending the congress were Mr. Hoang Xuan Luong - former Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee, President of the Vietnam Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation; representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors, sponsors and gyms in the province.

Currently, the weightlifting and bodybuilding movement is developing strongly in many localities throughout the province, with nearly 100 large and small gyms, attracting thousands of people to come and practice to improve their health.

Weightlifting and bodybuilding in Nghe An have great potential for high-level sports. Since 2013, Vinh City has coordinated with gyms in the area and neighboring provinces to organize annual bodybuilding competitions. Currently, many athletes from Nghe An are competing for Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces, achieving remarkable results.

Regarding weightlifting, since 2003, this sport has become a strong subject that has been invested in training at the Provincial Sports Training Center, regularly winning many medals at domestic and international competitions. At national youth championships, Nghe An weightlifters always win 2-4 gold medals.

However, according to the assessment, the weightlifting and bodybuilding movement in the province still shows limitations. The movement is still spontaneous and fragmented, without an organization to bridge the gyms to create a unified development direction; bodybuilding is developing strongly but there are no conditions for professional training and improvement to represent Nghe An to participate in national competitions...

From the above reality, it is necessary to improve the organization to gather and mobilize all resources to promote the movement of training and competing in weightlifting and bodybuilding, and develop achievements in these potential sports. The Congress elected 15 comrades to the executive committee; Mr. Cao Dang Vinh was elected as Chairman of the Provincial Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation for the 2018 - 2023 term./.
