Mr. Cao Duc Phat holds the position of Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee.

Mr. Cao Duc Phat was appointed to the position of Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee.

On the afternoon of August 9, in Hanoi, the Central Economic Committee held a conference to implement the Politburo's decision on personnel work, and to present the Politburo and Secretariat's decisions on the transfer to the position of Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee.

Attending the conference were Mr. Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat; Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Economic Commission.

According to Decision No. 31 dated July 27, 2016 of the Politburo on the assignment of work to members of the Party Central Committee, Mr. Cao Duc Phat, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, was assigned to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Economic Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dinh The Huynh stated that Mr. Cao Duc Phat is a capable person with a lot of experience in practical work; always completes well all tasks assigned by the Party and the State, and is highly trusted by colleagues and comrades. Mr. Cao Duc Phat's new assignment will help him continue to promote his good traditions.

Mr. Dinh The Huynh expressed his belief that in his new position, Mr. Cao Duc Phat will continue to promote his capacity, qualities, and intelligence, strive to excellently complete assigned tasks, to contribute to the overall development of the country, worthy of the trust of the Party and people.

Speaking at the ceremony to receive the decision, Mr. Cao Duc Phat pledged to do his best to join the leadership of the Central Economic Committee to successfully complete the assigned tasks, worthy of the trust of the Politburo and the Secretariat.

Mr. Cao Duc Phat was born in 1956 and has held the following positions: Director of the Agricultural Development Center, Deputy Director and Director of the Agricultural Development Center under the Institute of Agricultural Planning and Design; Director of the Policy Department, Director of the Planning and Finance Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam; Standing Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee; Minister, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development./.
