A husband from Nam Dinh spoils his wife in a unique way.
"My parents were arguing. My mom said, 'Talk less,' and my dad, without saying a word, went and cut some tape and taped it over his mouth," Van recounted.
A post by 22-year-old Doan Van in a Facebook group has garnered 19,000 likes and nearly 1,300 shares.

The husband taped his mouth shut when his wife told him, "Talk less." |
Van added: "My dad may look grumpy, but he's incredibly doting and loving towards his wife. My mom often travels far to get supplies, and whenever she goes alone, the day before she returns, my dad always cleans the house from top to bottom, wiping and scrubbing dozens of times so she feels comfortable when she comes home. Once, when I went with my mom, I filmed her and sent the video to my dad. He texted back: 'You filmed your wife so little, I didn't even get a chance to admire her to ease my longing before it was all over.'"
The girl from Nam Dinh added that in their daily life, her 47-year-old father was extremely caring towards his wife and doted on his two daughters. Whenever her mother had menstrual cramps, her father would take care of all the housework, massage her stomach, buy medicine, and bring porridge up to her room.
"My mother told my sister and me that when choosing a husband, we should look for someone like our father – a man who speaks little but does much, so that we can be cherished. I just hope to find someone who is 60-70% as good as my father; that would be lucky enough," Van shared.

Among the more than 1,700 comments under Van's post, many young people proudly shared stories of their parents' affectionate moments that made their children "envious":
- My dad is 70 and my mom is 57, but they occasionally go out for coffee together. If he sees me loitering around at home, he'll definitely say, "Are you trying to steal my wife?"
- Every few days I see Dad washing Mom's hair, but no matter how much I beg, I never get to wash it for him.
- This morning Mom said she was craving coconut water, so in the afternoon Dad went and bought several bunches of coconuts. It took Mom a whole month to finish them all. They've been married for over twenty years, and they're still buying matching rings – you can imagine how much they love them. I can only sit and watch, feeling envious.

"My parents live in the countryside; they're not romantic, but their affection is genuine. My dad always asks my mom's opinion before doing anything, and it's a regular occurrence for him to sit and pluck gray hairs from her head," Tran Thu Thao (Ha Nam) shared in a comment under Doan Van's post. |
- I left my child with my grandparents. In the middle of the night, I was startled to see my father calling, thinking something was wrong, when I heard him say: 'Come over and take the child back right away. She's so restless she's making my wife sick. And what kind of grandchild is she, hugging her grandmother and yelling at her?'
- My dad often watches shows with pretty models wearing nice clothes, then asks my mom if she likes the shoes that one of the models is wearing, or the dress that one is wearing. If she likes it, he buys it right away, while I don't have anything to wear.
My parents were arguing. When my mother scolded him, my father yelled, "Say another word! Say another word! If you say any more, I'll slap you in the face!" My mother laughed, and they made up again.
- At home, Mom could go wherever she wanted during the day, but she absolutely had to be home at night. Dad often told my sisters and me, "You girls get married and go wherever you want, I only need your mother, and it's enough for the two of us to live together."
- While sitting at the dinner table, my dad said, "You two sisters sit next to each other so I can sit next to my girlfriend."
