Hmong husband lives with 2 wives at the same time
(Baonghean.vn) - Having no money to get married, Vu Ga Hua had to marry his brother's wife when he passed away. Two years later, he married another wife and now the three of them are living together in one house.
We had to make an appointment for a long time before we could meet Vu Ga Hua (born in 1977) who lives in Phu Kha 1 village, Na Ngoi commune (Ky Son). When we arrived at the beginning of the village, we asked for the house of the "bisexual" man and everyone knew him. His house was located on the last slope of the village. When we arrived, there were only a few shabby children hanging out on the porch playing in the rain. Seeing strangers, they ran to hide in a corner of the house.
We had to wait for nearly 2 hours before we saw Mr. Ga Hua carrying a woman on the back of his motorbike. Quickly changing out of his rain-soaked clothes, he introduced himself to the guests: “This is Xong Y Du, my father’s little wife. The first wife has gone to visit her child in Buoc Mu.” Hearing her husband speak, the wife blushed and bent down to hug her little child.

According to Vu Ga Hua, all of his brothers lost their parents at a young age. Because the family was so poor, all the money they saved was spent on their elder brother Vu Ba Po's wedding. After a while, Mr. Po married Ms. Xong Y Denh, but in 1996, he became seriously ill and passed away.
The family was already poor and had to hold a funeral for his brother, so the family became even more destitute. According to the Mong people's custom of "connecting the line", Vu Ga Hua had to take his brother's wife to live with him. At that time, he was 28 years old. "I didn't love this wife because she was 2 years older than me, but according to custom, and because I didn't have money, I had to marry her" - Ga Hua confided. However, he and his wife had 5 children together.

Living together for 2 years, the couple's life was not happy because there was no love, so in 2005, he married Ms. Xong Y Du (born in 1982) from Nam Can commune (Ky Son). For this wedding, he had to pay 5 million to the bride's family. 12 years have passed, he and Ms. Xong Y Du have 6 children together, the youngest is just 2 years old. "My husband and I are preparing to have another child because we have been having children for a long time but still have no son" - the man with a haggard face said.

Currently, Mr. Vu Ga Hua still lives with his two wives in the same house. Their married life is harmonious, but there is still a distance between him and his first wife because of the title "sister-in-law, brother-in-law".
Regarding this, Mr. Mua Dua Thai - Chairman of Na Ngoi Commune People's Committee confirmed: "The story of Mr. Vu Ga Hua living with 2 wives is true. He (Vu Ga Hua) married his first wife according to Mong customs, and he married his second wife. However, both of these wives did not register their marriage. They lived together according to the agreement between the parties"./.
