(Baonghean.vn) - Former British Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to publish a memoir in the fall of 2017 for 1.5 million pounds. In addition, he also plans to participate in evening talks with a salary of about 50,000 pounds/hour.

According to The Sunday Times, Mr. David Cameron will send a draft of his memoir to publishers this weekend. Mr. Cameron's behind-the-scenes stories during his time as British Prime Minister are not widely known. Therefore, the main content of the memoir is his time at 10 Downing Street.

Mr Cameron is expected to earn £1.5 million from royalties from publishing his memoirs.

According to some sources, Mr Cameron's agent Ed Victor initially wanted to offer 4 million pounds for the memoir - a price that is approximately the 4.6 million pounds paid for former Prime Minister Tony Blair's memoir in 2007 and the 3.5 million pounds paid for Margaret Thatcher's memoir in 1993.

However, Mr Victor is now offering a much lower price after realising that publishers who had negotiated the memoirs of Mr Blair and Mrs Thatcher were mainly targeting the US market, while Mr Cameron is not a well-known figure in that market.

In addition, Mr. Cameron's name is also associated with the phrase Brexit (Britain leaving the EU) and this has had a negative impact on his 6 years as Prime Minister.

After several publishers dropped out of the race to secure the rights to the memoir, Viking and Macmillan are likely to take over the reins for Mr Cameron's memoir.

Mr Cameron, who resigned as a member of Parliament last week, has told friends he wants to spend the next nine months writing his memoirs, which are due to be published in autumn 2017.

He also plans to do evening speaking engagements for around £50,000 an hour.

Mr. Cameron also plans to set up a charity fund similar to that of Mr. Tony Blair to change the lives of poor children based on the British government's National Citizen Service program since 2011./.
