The resolution approving the appointment of Mr. Dinh Tien Dung as Minister of Finance was also passed by National Assembly deputies with 88.15% of deputies voting in favor.
Immediately afterwards, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, introduced Mr. Nguyen Huu Van, Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, to replace Mr. Dinh Tien Dung as the State Auditor General.
This afternoon, the National Assembly will hold discussions before proceeding to vote on the election of the State Auditor General.
Previously, at an extraordinary meeting on the morning of March 4, 2010, the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee elected Mr. Nguyen Huu Van, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, to the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Van, born in 1956, holds a PhD in Economics.
According to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Mr. Nguyen Huu Van is qualified for the National Assembly to elect him to the position of Auditor General.

Mr. Dinh Tien Dung (born in 1961) was elected by the National Assembly to the position of Auditor General on August 2, 2011, replacing his predecessor, Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue.
Throughout today and for half of tomorrow morning, the National Assembly will dedicate its time to personnel matters.
Opening the personnel discussion session on May 23rd, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung stated: The National Assembly will also consider personnel restructuring for several other related organizations. The dismissal, election, and approval of the aforementioned positions are among the important contents of this session. The general spirit is to ensure the leadership of the Party while simultaneously implementing democratic procedures in the National Assembly's operations.
