Mr. Dung 'Lo Voi' builds a 100 million USD racetrack
In addition to horse racing, the owner of Dai Nam also wants the complex racetrack to develop many sports that are not yet available in the province and region.
According to Mr. Huynh Uy Dung, owner of Dai Nam tourist area (Binh Duong), Dai Nam racetrack is built on an area of about 60-70 hectares, including horse racing villages on land, on grass; dog racing, large displacement motorbike racing, off-road racing, jet skiing with a race track designed to be about 1.5km long according to international standards. The grandstand area for spectators is built in a modular form that can serve 50,000 people. Depending on the time, it can be quickly and easily disassembled. The total cost of this project is estimated at about 100 million USD (more than 2,000 billion VND).
The owner of Dai Nam added that the idea of building a racetrack for sports suddenly came to him and his wife when he and his wife watched a report on horse breeding and pondered over cases like Mr. Nguyen Van Tuong (80 years old, from Go Cong, Tien Giang), who many people in the horse breeding and training industry often call Nam Go Cong. He is one of the long-time horse breeders in the Southern region. Since 1989, when Phu Tho racetrack was in operation, because there was no place to raise horses, he went to Binh Hung Hoa area to rent land to build a horse farm. His herd of horses grew from a few and quickly grew to about 20. Currently, Mr. Nam has 9 racehorses, the rest are breeding horses and foals.

Dai Nam has brought in many precious horse breeds to raise and prepare to serve at Dai Nam racetrack. |
“We brought Mr. Nam’s family and all these horses to Dai Nam, hoping that this place will be an environment that will help him pursue his passion. We will build a house so that he can have conditions to eat, live and have good conditions to take care of the horses,” said Mr. Huynh Uy Dung, adding that during the survey and measurement of racing horses according to international standards, Dai Nam found 297 horses that met the standards to participate in the racetrack.
In addition, the owner of Dai Nam also revealed that he is researching and collecting all types of antique horse-drawn carriages throughout the country. Then, he will restore these types, including the old hearses in Saigon and Dat Thu, to preserve traditional cultural values, serve for viewing and transporting tourists visiting here. It is expected that at the end of October, Dai Nam racetrack will officially come into operation.
“Hopefully in the future, Dai Nam racetrack will be a playground for many regional and international tournaments, thereby becoming an environment to search for talents, and Dai Nam is ready to coordinate with Binh Duong province to train and develop athletes to participate in domestic and international tournaments,” Mr. Dung expressed.
