Speaking at the forum with the content: Research orientation needs to apply science and technology to promote sustainable development of Nghe An agriculture, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Ho Xuan Hung oriented Nghe An agriculture to shift its thinking towards appropriate comparative advantages, adapting to the market economy, especially the province's key agricultural products that have been identified and new products that will be added in the near future.

“Focus on this direction, otherwise widespread investment will not be very effective,” said Mr. Hung; at the same time, he emphasized the need to eliminate the mindset of comprehensive agricultural development due to the advantage of diverse products.

Another step that scientists should focus on in restructuring agriculture, according to Mr. Ho Xuan Hung, is to study production organization and link it with market organization to overcome the situation of "good harvest, low price".

Closing the discussion, the Chairman of the Vietnam General Association of Agriculture and Rural Development suggested a direction for attracting science and technology resources. "Smart science is to turn nothing into something" - Mr. Hung presented the direction and analyzed this approach.

Accordingly, the province needs to have policies to attract businesses, create an environment for existing businesses in the province to develop to create trust for new businesses.

These are typical examples in difficult budget conditions, the province only needs to have attractive policies and businesses will bring in technology.

Mr. Ho Xuan Hung also recommended that the province should have a policy to attract scientists in the province to promote their creativity and scientists from Nghe An and the whole country to participate with the province; create synergy between many scientists in a program, especially large programs; support research results and final applications for individuals and businesses to motivate and encourage and have separate policies to encourage scientists to link their final results with the final products of farmers.
