Old motorbike taxi driver strangled by passenger
Hoang Duy strangled an old motorbike taxi driver, stole his motorbike in Ham Tan district, then pawned it and took a bus to the West to escape.
Hoang Duy, also known as Meo, 30 years old, was arrested by Ham Tan District Police in Duc Hoa District (Long An), more than a week after committing the crime.

12 days ago, Duy hired a motorbike taxi from Mr. Nguyen Huu Quyen, 73 years old, to take him from Nguyen Cong Tru Street, Tan Thien Ward (La Gi Town) to Tan Thang Commune (Ham Tan District), 10 km away.
When they reached a deserted section of the cemetery, the man strangled the old man unconscious and stole his motorbike. The victim survived and reported it to the police.
Roadside camera footage shows that after robbing property, Duy ran through Son My commune (Ham Tan district), stopped at a motorbike pawn shop for 7 million VND, then fled.
Duy is a local drug addict, often runs away from home, and has just sold his motorbike.
