Mr. Le Dinh Kinh was discharged from the hospital and returned to Dong Tam.

On the afternoon of May 2, Mr. Le Dinh Kinh (82 years old), who was injured in a fight during land clearance in Dong Tam commune (My Duc), was discharged from the hospital while thousands of people from Hoanh village were waiting.

At around 6:00 p.m. on May 2, an ambulance from Viet Duc Hospital stopped in Hoanh village (Dong Tam commune). Mr. Le Dinh Kinh was lying on a stretcher and was carried from the car into the house by his relatives amid the cheers of villagers who had been waiting for him for about an hour.

Sitting in the main room of the flat-roofed house near the end of the village, Mr. Kinh appeared healthy, always smiling and greeting and talking to the crowd of villagers who were filling his house. His family also set up extra tables and chairs to receive guests these days.

Along the village roads and at the market, people gathered in groups excitedly talking about Mr. Kinh's return.

After 7pm, Mr. Kinh ate 2 bowls of rice and chatted with his children and grandchildren."His complexion is good but he has lost about 3kg compared to before he was admitted to the hospital. His legs hurt for about a month before he can get out of bed. This afternoon, many villagers came to share the joy with the family. But to ensure his health, the family did not dare let many people in," said Mr. Le Dinh Cong, Mr. Kinh's son.

Sharing with VnExpress, Mr. Kinh said that during his days in the hospital, he was visited by city leaders such as Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and the city police director... They encouraged him to quickly recover his health to continue his unfinished work.

The 82-year-old man highly appreciated the dialogue between Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung and the people of Hoanh village because "despite being busy with many things, the city leaders came to dialogue with the people, promising to resolve the issue fairly, without favoring any side".

"I look forward to June 20 to hear the city inspector's decision. Mr. Chung's promise to clarify the matter thoroughly and fairly is also the right that the people demand. Only by looking at that can people trust the Party's leadership," Mr. Kinh said.

According to a leader of Viet Duc Hospital, after more than half a month of femur surgery, Mr. Le Dinh Kinh is recovering well."It will take some more training for him to walk normally. The hospital has mobilized the best doctors to perform bone surgery on him, using the most modern drugs and machines," said the doctor.

Mr. Le Dinh Kinh is one of the people in Dong Tam commune who was arrested.to serve the investigation of the case of disturbing public order related to land clearance in Dong Senh field, Dong Tam commune. During the execution of the arrest warrant on April 15, a scuffle occurred, resulting in Mr. Kinh being injured and hospitalized.38 police officers and officials were also detained in Hoanh village for a week.

LThe detention order against Mr. Kinh was later revoked.Because he "has declared his crime and has no criminal record, it is not necessary to apply temporary detention measures.

According to Mr. Le Dinh Ba (one of the people from Dong Tam commune who was detained and released), Mr. Kinh is respected by the people of Hoanh village in particular and the people of Dong Tam commune in general. Mr. Kinh is 82 years old this year, has 60 years of Party membership, and participated in the resistance war against the US.
