Medvedev criticizes Trump's blocking of his account
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that blocking Donald Trump's social media accounts was an outrageous and incomprehensible case. According to him, the then-President of the United States was cut off from voters simply because social media was sympathetic to the Democratic Party.

“This is an outrageous, incomprehensible case. The President of the United States, who is not charged, I emphasize, not charged with any charges, but only stories, some procedures are going on – is cut off from his voters, while there is no legal regulation of the operation of social networks that would allow this,” Medvedev said in an interview with Russian media.
Mr. Medvedev noted that Mr. Trump's Twitter mini-blog alone has 85 million followers, and if you count "not a few" accounts on other social networks, that number totals to nearly 250 million people according to different estimates.
"Moreover, this is the current President of the world's largest economy, a very important country. Why did they make such a decision? It's because they think they're doing the right thing. So why do they think they're right about that? Because they sympathize with the Democratic Party" - Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council affirmed.
Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram had previously suspended Mr Trump's accounts for varying periods of time over his statements surrounding the January 6 riots in Washington. The incident stemmed from videos and text messages sent to protesters who stormed the Capitol in Washington. After urging them to be peaceful and go home, Mr Trump called them patriots and claimed the election was rigged.
