Medvedev names time when Russia and the West can reconcile
Dmitry Medvedev says relations between Russia and the West will remain fractured for years or even decades to come.
Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has accused Western powers of lying, causing a rift that will last for decades to come and said Moscow has no reason to try to reach a deal with them.
“There is no party in the West with which we can work to solve any problem,” Mr. Medvedev said.

Mr Medvedev said Western countries had deceived Russia by claiming that NATO's expansion in Europe posed no threat to Moscow.
The deputy head of Russia's Security Council said the West was lying by supporting a peace roadmap for Ukraine but in fact was giving Kiev time to prepare for a possible armed conflict with Moscow. Mr Medvedev declared the conflict in Ukraine a proxy war against Russia.
Russian officials predict that normal relations between Russia and the West will not be restored for years or even decades to come.
“From now on, we will not work with them until a new generation of sensible politicians comes to power in the West. We will be careful and vigilant. We will promote relations with the rest of the world,” Mr. Medvedev said.
“The West is incapable of offering the world any new ideas that can move humanity forward, solve global problems or provide collective security.”
Mr. Medvedev hopes that in the near future some regional organizations will appear with their own values and rules, and Russia will have a place in the new order./.
