Medvedev speaks about the risk of a full-scale war in the Middle East
Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said that a full-scale war in the Middle East is the path to a fragile peace in the region.

According to RIA Novosti on August 1, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that a full-scale war in the Middle East is the path to fragile peace in the region.
“The knot in the Middle East is tightening. I am very sorry for the innocent victims. Meanwhile, it is clear to everyone that a full-scale war is the only way to a fragile peace in the region,” Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.
Mr Medvedev added that all innocent victims of the conflict in the region were “hostages of the United States”.
On July 31, the Hamas movement reported the death of Commander Ismail Haniyeh, after an Israeli attack on his residence in the capital Tehran, when he came to attend the inauguration of the new Iranian President.
Hamas blamed Israel and the United States for the death of Commander Haniyeh and said it would respond.
US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said he had nothing to say about the death of the Hamas commander and Israel's involvement in the story. Israel's military said it "does not respond to media reports" about the killing of Commander Haniyeh. The Jerusalem Post reported that the Israeli government had instructed its ministers not to speak out about the killing of the Hamas leader.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov called Haniyeh's death “an absolutely unacceptable political murder” that threatens further escalation in the region.
