According to TASS on September 7, Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told the news agency in an interview at the Eastern Economic Forum that resolving the situation in Ukraine requires a difficult dialogue between the different parties.
Peskov noted that all of President Vladimir Putin's partners around the world support his dialogue with US leader Donald Trump and his peace efforts regarding Ukraine.
"All support for this process is readily available. But the dialogues remain quite difficult, and many contradictions have yet to be resolved," Peskov said.
On September 4th, in a conversation with the press following his visit to China, President Putin stated that if Zelensky was ready for negotiations, "let him come to Moscow." At the same time, the Russian leader referred to Zelensky as "the current head of government" in Ukraine, emphasizing that Zelensky's authority as president had legally expired long ago.
For his part, Zelensky refused to go to Moscow. In an interview with ABC News, Zelensky stated that he was allegedly being prevented from traveling to the Russian capital. However, the Ukrainian leader repeatedly stated that he was "ready for a meeting," and "in any format."
