Billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets increased sharply mainly thanks to the stock of Vingroup Corporation (stock code: VIC) nearly doubling compared to mid-2017. As of the end of June 2017, Mr. Vuong held nearly 724 million shares of Vingroup, equivalent to 27.45%.
Currently, each VIC share is trading at around VND77,000 after reaching a record peak of VND81,600 in this morning's trading session (November 21). VIC shares are continuing to increase in price thanks to the information that 1.9 billion VRE shares of Vincom Retail Joint Stock Company were officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange earlier this month and Vingroup has just opened the VPF Football Training Center.
Along with Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is the second Vietnamese person to be ranked by Forbes. Accordingly, the CEO of Vietjet is currently the 1,179th richest person in the world with total assets of about 2 billion USD.
